It might sound surprising but strawberries can really whiten your teeth. The malic acid in the berries acts like a astringent and removes surface stains. Also baking soda does wonders on your teeth.
and whats even better then the two seperate is when you mix them together.

Take a large strawberry and crush it into a pulp, then mix with it about half a teaspoon of baking soda, turning it into a paste, and gently brush your teeth with the paste.

but remember that baking soda is a abrasive so I only do this about twice a week.

and do not listen to anyone that tells you to do anything with lemons or lemon juice! the acid in lemons does whiten your teeth very quickly but, ***** the calcium out of your teeth and scrapes out the enamel so in the long run your teeth with become cavity prone, and stained.

    good luck!

He’s certainly right about the lemons.

Keep away! Not only will they make your teeth cavity prone, the whiteness they will cause will be patchy and ugly.

    Just a note:
Abrasive whitening formulations can only remove surface stains (due to food, tea, wine, smoking etc…). The dentine beneath your enamel is yellow and cannot be removed with any amount of abrasive whitening. Too much abrasive will in fact make your teeth appear yellower as you wear down the enamel and more dentine is visible.

The only way to whiten internally is with a chemical whitener such as hydrogen peroxide. I do not recommend trying to formulate your own unless you are not too fussed on life. Listerene now make a whitening mouthwash which contains hydrogen peroxide.

The most common option used as homemade teeth whitening agent is baking soda, which has a mild bleaching action. Given that it is used in baking, it also implies safety. Baking soda is sprinkled on the toothbrush, and teeth then cleaned using a gentle, circular motion. Care should still be taken though, especially for people with gum sensitivity. Old wives’ recipes often state that a paste of baking powder, a little salt, and a few drops of white vinegar, works effectively.

Salt, used exactly as baking soda, is also touted as being a good teeth whitener. However, it might just be its osmosis, dehydrating action that makes teeth appear whiter, since dehydrated teeth look whiter.

Lemon juice is often used, but it had high acidic levels, so teeth can weaken in the long run. Other natural, fruit options regard rubbing the inside of an orange peel on the teeth. A strawberry cut in half and the inside rubbed on teeth also works. Mashed strawberry can also be applied with a toothbrush. Apple cider vinegar is also said to be effective. Dried orange rind, and walnut bark, is also good
