If you haven’t done it before use 22% make sure you wipe any gel from your gums as this can cause a reaction. The second srtongest is 35% but I wouldn’t use that until you are confident with the 22%

Been there ! done it! don’t work! it’s used with other stuff, that’s why we have to go dentists for proper whitening, crap! or what they know how to make their money’ otherwise if you think about it we would all go around with a porcelain sink in our mouths, no disrespect to anyone.

There are many strengths, varying from about 5% to 30%. The thing is, it is NOT just “plain old hydrogen peroxide.” If you let a strength of more than about 3% PLAIN H2O2 contact your gums, it will burn. If you touch 30% H2O2 with ANY part of your body, it will almost instantly kill the skin it touches. We do use this in the office, but with extreme caution and “double” isolation of the tooth. If it even touches the gums, it will cause a bad chemical burn. If it leaks onto the gum to any significant degree, it could ultimately cause the loos of the tooth! Do not try to make some home brew of hydrogen peroxide to whiten your teeth. This is a buffered solution and complicated chemistry.

There are lots of different percentages available but it should be carbamide peroxide that is used it produces about one third hydrogen peroxide. The only difference the percentage makes is the speed of change (and potential damage to the tissues) not the overall whitening, there are reports that the slower the process the longer it lasts so overall I think that 10 to 15 % carbamide peroxide is best for at home bleaching.
